Pedestrian dies after collision in Seattle’s South Park neighborhood

SEATTLE — A pedestrian has died after he was struck by a car late Thursday night in Seattle’s South Park neighborhood.

Officers were called to the intersection of 14th Avenue South and South Henderson Street at around 11 p.m. after receiving reports of a collision involving a pedestrian. When they arrived, police found a 60-year-old man with serious injuries. Despite life-saving efforts by medics with the Seattle Fire Department, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The 23-year-old driver remained at the scene and is cooperative with police. A preliminary investigation showed the pedestrian had been crossing 14th Avenue South when the driver struck him. Police found no signs of impairment…
