Founders of longest-running brewery in Seattle’s Ballard neighborhood retire after 35 years

SEATTLE — After 35 years of crafting beer for thirsty friends, family and mariners alike, Ballard’s longest-running brewery owners are officially hanging up their brewing aprons.

George and Jane Hancock, the husband-and-wife founders of Maritime Pacific Brewing Company, were celebrated Sunday by their longtime, loyal patrons who packed the brewery to toast their legacy.
