Man charged with assaulting federal officers by crashing into their vehicles

SEATTLE — A citizen of Mexico illegally living in Stanwood was charged with two counts of assault on a federal officer Monday for crashing a truck into government vehicles, authorities say.

Due to criminal convictions and lack of immigration status, 25-year-old Victor Vivanco- Reyes was being sought by team from Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), Enforcement Removal Operations (ERO), U.S. Border Patrol, and Customs and Border Protection’s Air and Marine Operations (CBP AMO), according to the US Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Washington.

According to the criminal complaint in the case, on May 22, HIS agents tried to find Vivanco-Reyes in the Mount Vernon area. When they spotted his vehicle, they tried to get him to pull over by using lights and sirens, but he sped away in a residential area…
