A tragic scene unfolded over the weekend when an 18-year-old hiker slipped and fell down a 50-foot waterfall at a popular park in Washington.
According to reports, the man was walking across the rocks at the top of Sol Duc Falls in Olympic National Park when he slipped. He’s said to have resurfaced at the bottom of the waterfall but then disappeared.
Search and rescue immediately began efforts to find him. The team roped to the bottom of the falls, with one team searching the riverbanks while using thermal imaging. Several local agencies also helped with the efforts, to no avail…
