A Seattle doctor was among 17 members removed from a Centers for Disease Control (CDC) committee, The Seattle Times reported Monday.
Helen Chu, an infectious disease doctor, was let go without warning from the CDC’s Advisory Committee for Immunization Practices (ACIP) via an email on June 9, according to the media outlet.

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) stated it is “reconstituting” the committee, according to a news release on the HHS’s website. The committee makes recommendations on the safety and need for clinical vaccines.
“Today we are prioritizing the restoration of public trust above any specific pro- or anti-vaccine agenda,” HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. stated via the release. “The public must know that unbiased science—evaluated through a transparent process and insulated from conflicts of interest—guides the recommendations of our health agencies.”…
