Seattle law enforcement ended a manhunt that began last month with the arrest of Sedric Stevenson, a fugitive who had escaped their grasp during a prisoner transfer at Sea-Tac Airport. Stevenson was apprehended on June 18 by detectives from Seattle Police Department’s Gun Violence Reduction Unit, who are part of the U.S. Marshals Task Force, according to the SPD Blotter.
Details about Stevenson’s escape on May 5 revealed he had managed to slip away from authorities at the airport, subsequently boarding a light rail train to flee into the cityscape. Since then, the search had been ongoing, with local police and federal agents on the lookout for Stevenson, who was wanted on out-of-state charges. Police located Stevenson at a Seattle residence and managed to arrest him without any incident. He’s now facing extradition to Kentucky, backed by a governor’s warrant.
After Stevenson’s arrest, he was booked into King County Jail.
