Man Attacked With Machete at Lake City Park in Seattle, Police Seek Suspect

Seattle’s tranquility was pierced by violence on Tuesday night as police were called to Lake City’s Albert Davis Park following reports of an assault involving a machete. The Seattle Police Department detailed the incident, stating that at approximately 8:28 PM, officers found a 42-year-old man with several injuries. The victim had been enjoying an evening of music and dance when he was unexpectedly attacked.

An encampment near the 12500 block between 27th Avenue Northeast and 28th Avenue Northeast served as the backdrop to this unfortunate event. According to the police report, after being struck in the back by the male suspect, the victim suffered minor scratches and a small laceration to his left hand. Struck by the suspect, the machete-style weapon cut the man as the music played on.

The Seattle Fire Department medics quickly provided care, treating the man on the scene before he was transported to the hospital by AMR for further treatment.
