PORTLAND, Ore. (KPTV) – From late April through September, the Trails & Rails program, a partnership between Amtrak and the National Parks Service, provides guided tours at no additional cost for commuters headed between Portland and Seattle.
“I enjoy talking to people that travel here, in the summer we get a lot of tourists in the Northwest as well as local people that don’t know these stories,” David Taylor said, a volunteer guide with the program. “It makes it pretty interesting to share that and some things about the National Park Service as well.”
