Seattle police arrest man after axe attack leaves victim seriously injured in Belltown

SEATTLE — Seattle Police Department officers arrested a 43-year-old man for assaulting another man with an axe in Belltown Friday evening.

“At about 6:50 p.m., patrol officers responded to a fight disturbance in an alley near Blanchard Street and 1st Avenue,” wrote the SPD. “The two men got into an altercation with one another, and during the disturbance, one of the men attacked the other man with an axe.”

The SPD also noted that officers separated both parties and proceeded to apply a tourniquet to the victim, who had a “severe incision wound to his arm and an injury to his head, with significant blood loss.”…
