Former inmate whose sentence was reduced by ‘Blake decision’ now accused of woman’s murder

SEATTLE — A man with a decades-long criminal history is now being held on suspicion of first-degree murder for the death of a woman whose body was found in a north Seattle apartment last month.

Investigators allege Willie James McCoo, Jr., 55, of Seattle, killed his girlfriend, 31-year-old Kiara Sewell, of Tacoma, and left her body inside an apartment at the ‘Aries at Bitter Lake’ on North 143rd Street.
