Grandmother shot in face in front of grandchildren near Seattle’s Pike Place Market

SEATTLE — A Tacoma grandmother is recovering after being shot in the face with a pellet gun while driving her family home from Pike Place Market on Saturday.

Edith Oppenheimer, the victim, was driving her daughter and two young granddaughters near South Jackson Street and 4th Avenue in Pioneer Square around 5 p.m. when she was struck.
