Garbage strike continues as Kent, Bellevue offer new trash drop-off sites for residents

KING COUNTY, Wash. — With no end in sight for the Republic Services garbage worker strike to end, more free drop-off locations are being organized to keep trash from piling up along neighborhood streets.

The cities of Kent and Bellevue offered drop-off locations on Thursday, where non-union Republic Services employees collected people’s bagged-up garbage to dispose of at nearby transfer stations.

“I just hope this doesn’t become permanent because it’s a total inconvenience,” said Jerome Collins, who is sympathetic to the push for better wages but had better things to do with his day…
