Bellevue police have captured a man wanted in connection with a fatal April shooting in Seattle’s First Hill neighborhood. On Wednesday, officers detained Ayub S. Mohamed for a minor violation—only to discover he was the suspect in a Seattle homicide that occurred earlier this year. The arrest, as reported by the Seattle Police Department’s Blotter, went down without any incident.
Following an identification check during the stop, SPD homicide detectives were able to tie Mohamed to the April 26 incident. It was on a First Hill street that a 40-year-old man was fatally shot, and another man was injured. The Seattle Police Blotter has shared that Mohamed is now facing multiple charges, including Assault, Burglary, and 1st Degree Murder.
After the arrest in Bellevue, police booked Mohamed into the King County Jail.
