Man Arrested for Alleged Drug Dealing After Being Spotted by Patrol in Seattle’s Belltown

Seattle police officers have arrested a man suspected of dealing drugs in the neighborhood of Belltown. According to the SPD Blotter, the incident occurred yesterday afternoon when officers, on a routine patrol on the 100 block of Blanchard Street, spotted the suspect allegedly handling what appeared to be narcotics.

In a classic case of seeing and running, the suspect attempted to escape upon noticing the cops but was apprehended swiftly after a brief chase. Officers reported finding two types of drugs – “large amounts of a white powdery rocklike substance that had the appearance of crack cocaine or powdered fentanyl,” the police report detailed.

The evidence collected at the scene included 7.9 grams of what is believed to be crack cocaine, 6.8 grams of a substance suspected to be powdered fentanyl, and $650.49 in cash. The 40-year-old suspect, whose identity hasn’t been released, is currently held at the King County Jail. The charges slapped on him are related to the sale and delivery of synthetic narcotics…
