Woman claims jet noise traumatized her sick cat, then Blue Angels silenced her on social

SEATTLE — As Seafair weekend approaches, a new call to end the Blue Angels in Seattle and a separate lawsuit are bringing a different side of the annual air show into focus.

Seattle-area resident Lauren Lombardi filed a lawsuit on July 21, 2025, against a U.S. Navy Blue Angels commander and two public affairs officials who run the Blue Angels Instagram page, claiming the jet noise traumatized her already sick cat, and then the organization silenced her on social media by blocking her from commenting or messages the Blue Angels on Instagram.

In the summer of 2024, the lawsuit claims Lombardi’s cat, Layla, that was already sick with congestive heart disease, suffered more when she was at home on medication and the Blue Angels flew nearby creating a “sonic barrage.”…
