Torchlight Parade rolls out smoothly with new Waterfront route and nighttime start

SEATTLE — The classic Seattle summer tradition of the Seafair Torchlight Parade not only took a new route for the first time ever within the city, but also saw a much-awaited return to a nighttime setting for the first time since pre-pandemic – making for a day many locals raved about.

In addition, the Kaiser Permanente Seafair Torchlight Run, a 5k race, returned for the first time since 2022.

Locals from all over the area came to the revamped Waterfront to soak in the dozens of floats, performers, and community organizations marching down Alaskan Way, a new route for the parade that is usually held along 4th Avenue in downtown Seattle…
