Seattle artist loses $1,500 in goods at Bite of Seattle despite promised security

SEATTLE — A Seattle-based artist said thieves stole more than $1,500 worth of merchandise from her booth at the Bite of Seattle festival over the weekend, despite being told there would be security at the event overnight.

“They took a bunch of my prints. I had hoodies, t-shirts, artwork, stickers,” said Courtney Leanne, who shared the aftermath of the theft on TikTok.

Leanne said it cost her nearly $1,000 to secure a vendor spot at the festival.

“It’s very disappointing. Unfortunately, we were told that there would be overnight security, and the first two nights, I did see the overnight security,” Leanne said…
