Chehalis woman, 59, dies in Interstate 5 crash near Kent

A 59-year-old Chehalis woman died in a collision at about 12:56 a.m. Wednesday, July 30 along southbound Interstate 5 just north of South 272nd Street near the Kent/Federal Way city borders.

A pickup truck driven by a 47-year-old Olympia man was towing another truck when it became disabled on I-5 southbound in lanes two and three of five lanes, according to the Washington State Patrol.

Aimee E. Ott, of Chehalis, was driving a 2022 Toyota Corolla that crashed into the rear of the towed vehicle. She was alone in the car and died at the scene. All three vehicles came to a rest in lanes two and three. The crash blocked the roadway for about five hours…
