SEATAC, Wash. (KOMO) — A man from El Salvador is now facing federal criminal charges after he allegedly escaped from ICE agents while being transported through the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) last month.
According to a complaint filed in the U.S. District Court in Seattle, Gerson Enrique Castaneda Piche jumped out of the back of a car at the airport while immigration agents were taking him to the Northwest ICE Processing Center (NWIPC) in Tacoma.
The agents were transporting Castaneda to the NWIPC to await immigration removal proceedings after he claimed he would face persecution or torture if he was deported to his home country of El Salvador…
