Seattle landlords face fines, deadlines over unauthorized homeless encampments

SEATTLE — Homeless camps that set up on private property are putting some landowners in a bind. Many face the costs of not only securing the lots, but also face fines issued by Seattle.

Some property owners said the timelines set by city inspectors can be tough to meet when dealing with a problem they didn’t create.
