Three Arrested After Vicious Assault and Robbery in Pioneer Square, Seattle Victim in Serious Condition

A brutal assault in Pioneer Square left a 42-year-old male victim severely injured and three suspects in custody, according to Seattle authorities. The incident, which unfolded on the night of August 6, prompted a swift response from the Seattle police after patrol officers arrived at the 300 block of South Main Street to find the victim battered and robbed of his shoes, phone, and wallet. Seattle Police Department’s Blotter reported that the victim received medical attention from officers at the scene before the Seattle Fire Department transported him to Harborview Medical Center, where he remains in serious condition.

Investigators recovered video surveillance footage showing the victim being punched, kicked, and rendered unconscious during the relentless attack. An officer who reviewed the footage described it to the police blotter as “absolutely vicious,” citing it was “one of the most brutal, unprovoked assaults” he has ever seen. In a disturbing twist, the footage captured one suspect returning to the scene to deliver an additional kick to the downed man.

The Real Time Crime Center cameras helped track the suspects following the assault, leading to their apprehension near 6th Avenue and South Jackson Street. One 28-year-old male suspect was booked into the King County Jail, while a 24-year-old man faces added charges, including Attempting to Disarm a Law Enforcement Officer after he reportedly grabbed at an officer’s gun during the arrest.
