Seattle Man Arrested for DUI and Reckless Driving After RTCC Captures Dangerous Maneuvers on Video

The Seattle Police Department has reported the arrest of a man for DUI and various other offenses after he was caught on camera by the SPD’s Real Time Crime Center (RTCC). On the evening of August 3, officers witnessed a vehicle speeding and driving recklessly along Aurora Avenue North. The 29-year-old driver was traveling at a high rate of speed, swerving through traffic and passing other cars in the center lane, according to the SPD Blotter.

The incident escalated when the suspect ran a red light at North 130th Street, leading police to perform a high-risk vehicle stop. During the encounter, police discovered the driver’s passenger in possession of two beer cans. Subsequent sobriety tests on the driver indicated alcohol impairment and a breath alcohol test showed levels over twice the legal limit, resulting in his arrest for DUI, Reckless Driving, and Reckless Endangerment.
