King County Audit: Potential multimillion dollar fraud in juvenile diversion programs

SEATTLE — King County may have given millions of dollars away in public money to community groups without any oversight or accountability, according to a blistering report from the King County Auditor’s office.

“There is no sugarcoating the findings, this is bad,” said King County Council member Reagan Dunn.

King County Council member Claudia Balducci also called it a “damning” audit and an example of waste. King County Council Vice Chair Sarah Perry also called it a waste of money, volunteer time, hope and faith. Dunn went as far as calling the report an “unmitigated disaster”…
