Shoreline, WA – King County residents will have the chance to exchange firearms for gift cards this weekend during a gun buyback event hosted by the King County Sheriff’s Office and Public Health – Seattle & King County.
According to the sheriff’s office, the event will take place Saturday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Shoreline Community College, located at 16101 Greenwood Ave. North. The program is being promoted as part of Suicide Prevention Month and is designed to provide a safe and anonymous way for individuals to surrender unwanted firearms.
Officials said participants will not be asked to provide identification, and no personal information will be collected. Firearms must be unloaded and placed in the trunk of a vehicle before arriving at the drop-off site.
