SEATTLE — Seattle may soon have another debate about killing a tunnel project, but this time it’s in relation to the Sound Transit light rail expansion.
On Thursday, Sound Transit Board Vice Chair and King County Councilmember Claudia Balducci talked about making a “big swing” at a budget shortfall and eliminating plans for a second transit tunnel through downtown.
She suggested formally, during a sparsely attended Executive Committee meeting, that the agency conduct a feasibility study to eliminate the tunnel from the planned light rail expansion…
