A man is in critical condition following a shooting incident in Seattle’s Chinatown-International District, as reported by the Seattle Police Department Blotter. The shooting took place on Friday afternoon near the intersection of South Jackson Street and 12th Avenue South.
Seattle police officers arrived on the scene at approximately 3:48 p.m., where they discovered an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound to his upper body. First responders gave aid to the victim before Seattle Fire Department medics transported him to Harborview Medical Center, where he remains in critical condition. The area was subsequently secured by law enforcement as part of the investigation.
Initial investigations suggest that the victim and the suspect were engaged in a confrontation shortly before the gunfire. The suspect, identified only as a male, reportedly discharged several rounds, which not only struck the victim but also caused damage to an electric transformer situated nearby.
