Murder suspect remains at large after killing homeless man near Bellevue shelter: Charges

BELLEVUE, Wash. — A 28-year-old man who was staying at a Bellevue homeless shelter has been charged with murder and robbery for the beating death of a man in a “makeshift campsite” at a nearby office park in late July.

According to charges filed in King County Superior Court, Samuel Hitchcock stole approximately $3,000 from the victim after a fight while the pair was drinking vodka and lying in the bushes at 13920 SE Eastgate Way.

Bellevue police identified Hitchcock in early August as the suspect and asked for help locating him…
