At approximately 8:45 p.m., multiple police agencies responded to an active shooter event at about the 18500 block of 68th Avenue NE in Kenmore. No injuries have been reported. A large area comprising multiple blocks was closed off to secure a perimeter. As of 9:30 PM, police units were still arriving. At least three armoured tactical vehicles and two command post units were seen staging nearby. At one point (as seen in the video link above), a SWAT officer ran by, prompting bystanders to wonder if they were inside the established perimeter.
The shooter appeared to be holed up in an apartment building, with the police making multiple announcements to come out over a public address system to a person named “Ryan” or “Brian”. By approximately 10:15 PM, it appears the subject surrendered without incident…
