Gunfire near Rainier Beach Playfield prompts lockdown at community center

SEATTLE — Reports of gunfire near the Rainier Beach Playfield led to a lockdown at the Rainier Beach Community Center on Monday afternoon.

Calls to authorities came in around 4:10 p.m., with multiple witnesses reporting a man firing shots in the 4700 block of South Cloverdale Street, according to Seattle police.
