Wrong-way driver in WSDOT hit-and-run identified as pedestrian killed on I-5

SEATTLE, Wash. — A wrong-way driver who fled the scene after striking a Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) vehicle was later identified as the pedestrian killed on Interstate 5.

The Washington State Police saidthe incident began around 7:40 p.m. on Friday when a WSDOT employee reported being hit by a car traveling the wrong way on southbound I-5 near 175th.

The WSDOT driver, who was nearly stopped at the time, was uninjured. The wrong-way driver fled on foot, and responding troopers were unable to locate the suspect…
