SEATTLE — Next year some King County restaurants will be required to post signs warning customers about unresolved labor violations — a first-of-its-kind rule in Washington State that aims to connect workplace protections with public health.
The King County Board of Health voted to approve the measure, which requires food establishments with verified, unpaid labor violations to display placards next to their existing food safety ratings. Those businesses will also face additional health inspections until violations are resolved.
