Auburn man charged in Seattle freeway shooting

An Auburn man is accused of getting into a fight at a bar, pointing a gun at a crowd before getting on the highway, then shooting at a car he cut off on Interstate 5 in Seattle.

On Oct. 14, 2025, the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office charged Zachary J. Jackson, 29, with second-degree assault and first-degree unlawful possession of a firearm. These charges stem from the alleged Sept. 3 incident on Interstate 5 near the Convention Center in Seattle, where Jackson is accused of shooting at another vehicle containing two people after Jackson cut the vehicle off.

According to the King County Adult and Juvenile Detention Center jail lookup portal, Jackson was booked into the King County Correctional Facility on Oct. 9 and is held on a $540,000 bail. According to court documents, Jackson entered a plea of not guilty and his motion for release on personal recognizance was denied by the court.
