Healy, the Coast Guard’s largest icebreaker, returns from vital Arctic science mission

SEATTLE — U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Healy (WAGB 20) is scheduled to return to Seattle on Sunday following an over four-month deployment to the Arctic in support of national defense operations and science missions, U.S. Coast Guard Northwest District officials said.

Healy is the United States’ largest icebreaker and the Coast Guard’s only icebreaker designed and equipped with scientific instruments to support high-latitude Arctic research, according to Coast Guard officials.
