Homeless man accidentally killed by garbage truck in Eastlake

A homeless man was struck and killed by a garbage truck in Eastlake on Tuesday morning, according to Seattle police.

The man was lying in front of garbage and recycling dumpsters in the middle of East Shelby Street where it ends near the 2800 block of Eastlake Avenue East, police said.

At about 6 a.m., the garbage truck driver unintentionally ran him over, police said. The driver did not appear impaired and cooperated with police, staying at the scene until they arrived. She was not arrested…
