The City of Seattle has expanded its Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP). This change makes 2,000 more families eligible for financial help with licensed child care costs. The expansion follows a 2023 report that found families in Seattle-King County spend over 20% of their income on child care. The city aims to reduce this cost burden.
With the new guidelines, a family of three earning up to $128,724 and a family of four earning up to $153,244 per year can now apply. Families who apply by November 30, 2025, and enroll with approved providers may receive up to $807 per month in support through the end of next year. The Department of Education and Early Learning (DEEL) manages the program. There is no waitlist, and families can apply online.
