On November 2, 2025, West Precinct Patrol Officers responded to reports of gunfire in the 300 block of 2nd Avenue South. When officers arrived, they found several fired cartridge casings and two damaged vehicles in a parking lot. Witnesses described one shooter and his vehicle. Security footage from a nearby Tesla recorded the incident and was used in the investigation.
About an hour later, a security guard told officers that the suspect was in a nearby alley. Officers detained the suspect and took his vehicle, as well as another vehicle he had access to, for further investigation.
