Suspected Felon Arrested for South Seattle Shooting After Metro Bus Altercation

A suspect is in custody following a South Seattle shooting early this morning, the Seattle Police Department reports. The apprehended individual, a 34-year-old convicted felon, now faces charges for assault and illegal firearm possession after allegedly shooting another man after a dispute.

The incident reportedly started on a Metro bus where the suspect and victim got into a disturbance. Following the altercation, both men were removed from the bus by the driver near the 800 block of Rainier Avenue South, according to the SPD Blotter. As the disagreement between the two escalated, shots were fired resulting in critical injuries to the victim.

Seattle Police Department’s Gun Violence Reduction Unit (GVRU), alongside patrol officers, responded to the scene. They apprehended the suspect, who had reportedly called 911 and remained at the location until the police arrived. The firearm believed to be used in the incident was recovered at the scene.
