Arriving at the scene, officers discovered a shattered door and a chaotic interior, though the house was empty. The return of the victim shortly afterwards filled in the puzzle, telling police about an ex-partner’s violent break-in and assault.
Describing a tale of continuous abuse, the victim admitted the ex-partner’s acts extended beyond this incident, including threats and violence that were never reported due to fear of retaliation.
