SEATTLE — A man who served more than a decade for murder was taken into custody after Seattle police responded to a call of a man sleeping with a gun in his waistband inside a hotel lobby.
Barry Lee Saunders Jr. faces one count of unlawful possession of a firearm in the first degree, according to charges filed Monday.
The defendant has been convicted of two serious violent offenses – murder in the second degree and assault in the second degree,” prosecutors wrote in charging documents. “This, taken with the facts that the defendant had a firearm loaded with six rounds while passed out next to an open bottle of liquor, brings the State concern that he may commit a future violent act.
