Man killed by Kent Police in 2024 fired 15 shots from apartment

A man at a Kent apartment complex fired 15 shots during a 2024 incident that led to his fatal shooting by a Kent Police officer.

The details were released by the Valley Independent Investigative Team (VIIT) as it continues to look into the officer-involved shooting of Christian Demetri Moshofsky, 33, at about 12:48 a.m. on Aug. 28, 2024 at the Madison Plaza Apartments, 102 Madison Ave., just east of Highway 167.

The ballistic analysis results from the Washington State Patrol Crime Laboratory indicate that a Ruger 5.7mm semi-automatic pistol, recovered from inside Moshofsky’s apartment, was fully operable and equipped with functional safety mechanisms, according to an Oct. 31 VIIT media release.
