King County shootings sharply drop to lowest third-quarter level since 2019

SEATTLE — King County recorded its lowest number of third-quarter shootings in six years, with gunfire incidents, injuries, and homicides all falling sharply in the July–September period, according to data released by the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.

The county logged 292 shots-fired incidents in the third quarter of 2025, a drop of more than 130 from the same period last year and the lowest Q3 total since 2019.
