A chaotic scene unfolded Tuesday evening in Seattle’s Queen Anne neighborhood as a man wielding a crowbar caused thousands of dollars in damages, smashing several windows and randomly attacking people in a spree that left several injured and caused significant property damage.
The incident began around 5:30 p.m. when officers were dispatched to 200 Roy Street following reports of a man running down the street, breaking windows with a crowbar, according to a report from the Seattle Police Department (SPD).
As officers made their way to the scene, dispatchers updated them that the suspect had attacked two people and was heading east on West Mercer Street. Upon arrival, officers initially could not locate the suspect and proceeded to interview one of the victims. The victim said he was walking on 4th Ave toward Mercer when he was struck on the shoulder from behind. The suspect, who remained silent, continued walking briskly.
