CARNATION, Wash. — A Lynnwood man is scheduled to be in court in December after illegally hunting and killing a cow elk on private property in Carnation.
Two men were arrested on Sept. 13 after they trespassed on Carnation Farms property and killed an elk using a crossbow mounted with an illegal thermal scope, said Capt. Jennifer Maurstad, an enforcement captain for the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW).
“They took great lengths to conceal the crime,” Maurstad said. “The elk had already been harvested and quartered, and the meat was hidden along with the crossbow that they had used.”…
