(NewsNation) — Is Gary Ridgway, the “Green River Killer,” at death’s door, as published reports suggest? And if so, what are investigators doing to minimize the number of secrets the Washington state inmate takes to the grave?
Ridgway, 76, pleaded guilty to killing 49 women and girls, some of whom he dumped in the Seattle area waterway in the 1980s and ’90s. But the former truck painter has claimed to have murdered as many as 80.
“I think you’d have some cold-case detectives at least making a try” to get more information from Ridgway, says author Katherine Ramsland, a professor of forensic psychology.
