SEATTLE — Thursday marks the first anniversary of the killing of King County Metro Transit Operator Shawn Yim, who was stabbed to death by a passenger while working his shift as an overnight bus driver on Dec.18, 2024.
Yim’s friends and colleagues gathered at the Central-Atlantic Bus Base on Wednesday night for an ‘Honor Ride’ of route 70.
“He was serving the public in the middle of the night and was brutally murdered,” said Greg Woodfill, the President of the Amalgamated Transit Union 587 (ATU) . “We want to focus on honoring the tragic loss of his murder. He was a late-night operator and was always working hard for his family.”…
