Memorial service held for WSP Trooper killed in crash in Tacoma

TACOMA, Wash. — Washington State Patrol held a memorial on Saturday for the Trooper who was killed while investigating a crash in Tacoma earlier this month.

29-year-old Tara-Marysa Guting was standing outside her patrol car investigating a two-vehicle collision when she was struck just before 7:30 p.m. on Dec. 19 on southbound Highway 509, south of the Port of Tacoma. She died from her injuries.

“Today, we as an agency and first responders at large, surrounded by Trooper Guting’s family and remembered a wonderful friend, colleague, and true embodiment of our agency’s motto, ‘Service with Humility,'” WSP said…
