Federal fraud investigation in Minnesota sparks backlash in Seattle’s Somali community

SEATTLE — The federal government has intensified its operations in Minnesota following new allegations of fraud, particularly targeting daycare centers reportedly run by the Somali community.

Homeland Security released a video showing agents going “door to door” at suspected fraud sites. This escalation comes after a viral video surfaced, allegedly depicting empty daycare centers receiving millions in taxpayer dollars.

FBI Director Kash Patel has pledged additional resources for the investigation, and lawmakers in the House are expanding their own probe. Rep.
