Kent Community Grieves Loss of Pregnant Woman and Unborn Child in 108th Avenue SE Traffic Collision

A tragic incident in Kent has left a community mourning the loss of Jessica Vasquez, a 37-year-old pregnant woman who was fatally struck by an SUV while crossing 108th Avenue Southeast. Police reports indicate that Vasquez was not in a crosswalk at the time of the collision. A 55-year-old woman driving the SUV stayed at the scene to cooperate with the authorities. Investigators have found that neither speed nor intoxication appear to have been factors in this incident, as stated by California Accident Alerts.

In the wake of the tragedy, Vasquez’s brother, Romeo Macias-Vasquez, started a GoFundMe account to raise funds for his sister’s funeral. “Jessica was known as a kind, joyful, and respectful person, she always knew how to make you laugh and always lit up the room with her presence,” Macias-Vasquez shared in a message on the crowdfunding platform. He added, “It’s so sad that her life was cut short,” urging others to cherish their loved ones, as conveyed in his statements to the Kent Reporter…
