Seattle police officers recovered an illegal weapon from a man during an early morning patrol in downtown Seattle on Saturday. According to the Seattle Police Department’s blotter, the incident occurred around 5 a.m. on January 3 near the 1400 block of Third Avenue, where officers on routine patrol observed the individual in possession of the weapon.
The report states that the 35-year-old man was in possession of a large fixed-blade knife with a handle incorporating brass knuckles. Police said the man was cooperative during the encounter. Officers located the concealed weapon after removing the handle from his pocket, which revealed the knife. Despite the individual’s prior violent history and status as a convicted felon, officers released him following the completion of the on-scene investigation.
