Seattle police chief confirms ICE activity on Jan. 7

SEATTLE — Seattle Police Chief Shon Barnes confirmed there was ICE activity near Evergreen Washelli Cemetery on Jan. 7.

The police department received a call from a community member to report three men were approached and arrested by ICE agents, according to a statement from Barnes. Officers responded to the cemetery around 10:20 a.m. and verified people were there “conducting federal law enforcement duties.”

According to a police report, officers saw a white van, but did not have a clear view of it. A vehicle then drove down to the officers and stated they were leaving. The driver said they were with ICE, but did not show identification, according to the report…
